Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder – Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a behavioral condition that affects both children and adults.  This common disorder begins in early childhood and can continue into adulthood.  If not recognized and treated, it can cause problems at home, school, and work and with relationships.  Symptoms of ADHD include difficulty paying attention, lack of organization, forgetful, impulsive, fidgety and difficulty sitting still, just to name a few If you or someone you know experiences some or all of these symptoms, you may have ADHD.  Brighton Research Group is conducting a clinical research trial for children and adults with ADHD.  Study Participants receive study related labs, office visits, and study medication at no cost.

Alzheimer’s Disease – Mild to Moderate – Are you or someone you love experiencing memory loss, poor concentration or confusion due to Alzheimer’s disease If you or someone you know experiences some or all of these symptoms, you may have Alzheimer Disease.  Brighton Research Group is conducting a clinical research trial for adults with Alzheimer Disease.  Study Participants receive study related labs, office visits, and study medication at no cost.

Bipolar Disorder - Bipolar disorder is the third most common mood disorder after major depression and dysthymic disorder. It affects about 1% of adults during their lifetime. Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder.  A person's mood swings from excessively 'high' and irritable, to sad and hopeless, and then back again, with periods of normal mood in between. Different from normal mood states of happiness and sadness, symptoms of manic-depressive illness can be severe and life threatening. which means that the symptoms are disturbances or abnormalities of mood. Major depression is a more common illness, the symptoms of which are mainly those of 'low' mood. Bipolar disorder involves episodes of both serious mania and depression. Brighton Research Group is conducting a clinical research trial for adults with Bipolar Depression.  Study Participants receive study related labs, office visits, and study medication at no cost.

 Depression – Are you depressed?  Do you suffer from three or more of the following:  Despair, Sadness, Hopelessness, Diminished pleasure in activities, unexpected weight change?  Lack of energy?  Sleeping problems?  Trouble concentrating?  Relationship problems?  Felling empty and worthless?  If so, you may be suffering from Depression.  If you have these warning signs or have been diagnosed by a doctor with moderate to severe depression and are 18 or older, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study.  Brighton Research Group is conducting a clinical research trial for adults with Bipolar Depression.  Study Participants receive study related labs, office visits, and study medication at no cost. 

Schizophrenia – Schizophrenia is a mental illness that affects more than 2 million people.  Symptoms of Schizophrenia may include feelings of being watched, change in personality, and feelings of anger or fear towards loved ones.  Additional symptoms may include strange or out of place acts or an extreme focus on religion.  .  If you or someone you know experiences some or all of these symptoms, you may qualify to participate in a clinical research trial with Brighton Research Group.  Study Participants receive study related labs, office visits, and study medication at no cost.

Insomnia – Insomnia is estimated to affect more than half of the U.S. adult population.  Insomnia can take many different forms:  difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, waking up too early, or waking up feeling unrefreshed.  In a survey by the National Sleep Foundation, 58% of adults reported having insomnia at least a few nights a week.  And the vast majority of those surveyed agreed that sleep loss can have a major impact on their lives.  If you experience symptoms associated with Insomnia you may qualify to participate in a clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication that may relieve symptoms of Insomnia.  Brighton Research Group is conducting a clinical research trial for adults with Insomnia.  Study Participants receive study related labs, office visits, and study medication at no cost.

Migraine Headaches (with aura) – A typical headache is heralded by an aura (blinking lights with partial vision loss, then sight restoration) followed in 25 to 60 minutes by a throbbing, unilateral headache associated with nausea, vomiting, and photophobia lasting 6-8 hours.  If you experience symptoms associated with a migraine headache you may qualify to participate in a clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational medication that may relieve symptoms of Migraine Headaches.  Brighton Research Group is conducting a clinical research trial for adults with Migraine Headaches.  Study Participants receive study related labs, office visits, and study medication at no cost.

Pathological Gambling - There are approximately 10 million gamblers in the United States today.  Pathological Gambling is persistent and recurrent gambling behavior that disrupts personal, family, careers and education pursuits. The individual may be preoccupied with gambling (e.g., reliving past gambling experiences, planning the next gambling venture, or thinking of ways to get money with which to gamble). Most individuals with Pathological Gambling say that they are seeking an aroused, euphoric state that the gambling gives them which appears more exhilarating than the money. Increasingly larger bets, or greater risks, may be needed to continue to produce the desired level of excitement.  

Persistent, gambling is expressed by 5 or more of the following symptoms:

  • Needs to put increasing amounts of money into play to get the desired excitement.
  • Has repeatedly tried (and failed) to control or stop gambling.
  • Feels restless or irritable when trying to control gambling.
  • Uses gambling to escape from problems.
  • Often tries to recoup loses.
  • Lies to cover up the extent of gambling.
  • Has stolen to finance gambling.
  • Has jeopardized a job or important relationship.
  • Has had to rely on others for money to relieve the consequences of gambling.
  • Is preoccupied with gambling.
